OAEA seeks Portland Metro Scholastic Program Administrator
The Oregon Art Education Association (OAEA) is the state affiliate for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the highly respected, 90-year-old, national, non-profit organization that honors 7th through 12th grade students gifted in the visual and literary creative arts. OAEA deals only with Scholastic’s visual art program, and we are seeking a program administrator for the Portland Metro Region (PMSA) of Oregon. This is a six-month, part-time position paying a stipend of $5,000. Speculated hours: 250 ($20/hour). September through February.
This position supports a wide range of activities across all program areas, and requires self-motivation, initiative, problem solving, and creativity. The job responsibilities will be coordinated with the OAEA board. The ideal candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills, good attention to detail, computer fluency, a flexible helpful personality, and a commitment to the mission of the Scholastic Art Awards. This position is supervised by the OAEA Scholastic Board Liaison and all work is subject to the OAEA board approval.
The majority of work activity occurs between February and September each year. OAEA does not have an office; contractor will be working from their own location. The adminstrator will provide their own computer, supporting equipment and supplies (phone, printer, etc) related to the job.

Beyond the Demos is OAEA's annual juried exhibition featuring the artwork of art educators from around the state.
